upon introduction, the Kawasaki ZX-10R established itself as
THE sportbike of 2004. Lauded by professional test
riders for it's light weight, crisp handling and, most
notably, it's power, the ZX-10R quickly became the
weapon of choice in the new AMA Dragbike 1000 SuperSport class.
The production ZX-10R head is
CNC-ported from the factory so we knew we had our work cut
out for us if we wanted to see any appreciable gain. We
applied the absolute latest technology to the problem,
mapping the existing port digitally and making changes on
the computer before we ever mounted a grinding tool.
Once we got it right we exactly duplicated the design on all
four cylinders and were able to see a 24 horsepower gain
with just porting and cams.
